524 West Chestnut Street Lancaster, PA

This brick townhouse, built ca. 1881, features a slate mansard roof with a tripartite-windowed dormer, double doors, segmental arches, and a modillioned cornice. The porch is a later addition.
During the early 1900s this was the home of bank clerk William A. Wiley and wife Clara H. (Reed) Wiley. Mr. Wiley worked for Farmers’ National Bank. He also was well known for owning Lancaster’s premier coin collection, which he safeguarded in a vault at his bank.
